Send In-App Alerts in HubSpot for Incoming Text Messages

Overview

Using HubSpot workflows, you can configure in-app notifications for text messages received by you or the contact owner. Access to HubSpot Automations: Workflow is required for this setup.

Steps to Set Up the Trigger

  1. Log into HubSpot and navigate to Workflows under the Automation section
  2. Create a new workflow by clicking 'Create workflow' in the top-right corner
  3. Select the 'Blank workflow' option and click 'Next'
  4. Click 'Set up triggers' to access trigger options
  5. Scroll down and select 'JustCall: SMS Received', then select 'Received from'
  6. From the available options, choose 'is known' as the trigger condition
  7. Click 'Apply filter' followed by 'Save'

Steps to Set Up the Action

  1. Click the Add (+) icon and select 'Send in-app notification' under Internal communication
  2. Choose notification recipients:
    • Select 'Contact owner' in the dropdown to notify the contact owner, OR
    • Select a specific user from the 'Send to users' dropdown
  3. Enter the notification subject and body text
  4. Use the 'Contact token' to merge the contact's name into your message

Steps to Set Up Re-enrollment

  1. Click 'Review' in the top-right corner
  2. Click 'Edit' next to 'Re-enrollment'
  3. Check both available options
  4. Click 'Save'
  5. Click 'Turn on' to activate the workflow

Note

To include message content in notifications, contact support. The team can set up a custom property to save message text for workflow use.
