Tag ActiveCampaign contacts based on call and SMS activity

Segment your contacts automatically based on how they interact with your team. JustCall applies tags to ActiveCampaign contacts whenever specific call, SMS, voicemail, or meeting activity occurs.
Available on: Pro plan or higher
Tagging options by activity type
SMS
- Incoming SMS -- Tags contacts who send you a text
- Outgoing SMS -- Tags contacts who receive a text from you
Calls
- Outgoing answered calls -- Tags contacts after successful outgoing calls
- Outgoing unanswered calls -- Tags contacts when calls go unanswered
- Incoming calls -- Tags contacts who call you
- Missed calls -- Tags contacts when you miss their call
Voicemail
- Voicemails from customers -- Tags contacts who leave voicemails
- Voicemails from you -- Tags contacts when you drop a voicemail
Meetings
- Meetings via Appointment Scheduler -- Tags contacts who book meetings
New contacts
If auto-contact creation is enabled, you can also tag:
- New contacts created from calls with unlinked numbers
- New contacts created from SMS with unlinked numbers
Set up activity-based tagging
- Go to Integrations from your dashboard.
- Open the My Active Integrations tab and find ActiveCampaign.
- Click Configure.
- Open the Advanced Settings section.
- Toggle on "Tag contacts in ActiveCampaign."
- For each activity you want to tag:
- Check the checkbox.
- Click the dropdown labeled "- select a tag -."
- Type at least 1 character to search.
- Select the tag you want to apply.
- Click Save Changes.
Optionally apply settings across all team members.
To disable tagging for a specific activity, leave its checkbox unchecked.
View tags in ActiveCampaign
- Log into ActiveCampaign.
- Go to Contacts and select the contact.
- Find the Tags section on the contact profile.
Tips
- Tags must exist in ActiveCampaign before you can search for them in JustCall.
- Tagging works with Sales Dialer calls.
- Use the JustCall web portal for configuration. Mobile and desktop apps do not support this feature.
