Automate SMS from ActiveCampaign workflows using webhooks

Trigger SMS messages automatically from ActiveCampaign workflows. Use JustCall's webhook-based SMS automation to send texts when contacts hit specific stages in your automations.

Available on: Team plan or higher

Step 1: Create an SMS campaign in JustCall

1. From the dashboard, select SMS & MMS in the left menu.
2. Under SMS & MMS, select SMS Workflow and locate ActiveCampaign under SMS Workflows.
3. Click Connect to link your ActiveCampaign account (or click Get Started if already connected).
4. On the Create a Campaign page, provide a Template Name.
5. Configure these fields:
   • Generate a Webhook URL: Click Generate to create the URL.
   • From: Select a JustCall number for sending messages and click Save.
   • Select ActiveCampaign account: Choose the account to use and click Save.
   • Set SMS Message: Type the message you want to send.
6. Click Create.
7. Copy the Webhook URL to your clipboard.

Step 2: Add the webhook to your ActiveCampaign automation

1. Log into ActiveCampaign and click Automations in the left menu.
2. Click Create an automation and select Start from Scratch.
3. In your automation workflow, click the + symbol where you want the SMS sent.
4. Choose Conditions & Workflows, then select Webhooks.
5. Paste the Webhook URL from JustCall into the Webhook field.
6. Click Save.

Step 3: Test your campaign

1. Enroll a test contact in the automation.
2. Confirm the SMS is sent and the campaign status in JustCall shows as Active.
