Group SMS conversations into a single ActiveCampaign note

Stop cluttering your CRM with individual message logs. JustCall can group all SMS messages exchanged with a contact on the same day into a single note in ActiveCampaign.

How grouping works

By default, JustCall logs each SMS as a separate note. When you enable grouping, all incoming and outgoing messages with a contact on the same calendar day are consolidated into one note.

A new note starts the next day if the conversation continues.

Message grouping follows the timezone configured in your JustCall account.


Set up SMS grouping

Step 1: Set SMS logging to Notes

  1. Go to Integrations from your dashboard.
  2. Open the My Active Integrations tab and find ActiveCampaign.
  3. Click Configure.
  4. In Workflow Settings, set both:
    • Log incoming SMS as: Notes
    • Log outgoing SMS as: Notes
  5. Click Save Changes.

Step 2: Enable grouping

  1. Open the Advanced Settings section.
  2. Toggle on "Group SMS conversations with a contact under a single activity."
  3. Click Save Changes.

Optionally apply settings across all team members.


View grouped conversations in ActiveCampaign

  1. Log into ActiveCampaign.
  2. Go to Contacts and open the relevant contact.
  3. Scroll to the Activity Feed.
  4. Look for entries marked as "Note" containing the full day's conversation.

Important notes

  • SMS must be logged as Notes (not Tasks) for grouping to work.
  • Use the JustCall web portal for configuration. Mobile and desktop apps do not support this feature.
