Email Notification Settings in JustCall

Stay informed about new emails, assignments, and team mentions without constantly watching your inbox. Configure which email notifications you receive and how they reach you.

Available on: Premium and Custom plans

Notification types

NotificationTrigger
New emailA new email arrives in a conversation assigned to you or in the shared unassigned queue
AssignmentAn email conversation is assigned to you or reassigned from you
MentionA teammate mentions you in an internal note on an email thread
Reply receivedA customer replies to a conversation you are assigned to

Configure notification preferences

  1. Go to Settings > Notifications > Email Inbox
  2. Toggle each notification type on or off
  3. Choose your delivery channels for each:
    • In-app notification — appears in the JustCall notification bell
    • Desktop notification — browser push notification (requires browser permission)
    • Email notification — sends a notification email to your connected account
  4. Save your preferences

In-app notifications

In-app notifications appear as a badge on the notification bell icon in the JustCall dashboard. Click the bell to see a list of recent notifications with links to the relevant conversations. Unread notifications are highlighted.

Desktop notifications

Desktop notifications appear as browser push alerts even when JustCall is in a background tab:

  1. Make sure your browser allows notifications from JustCall
  2. In Chrome: click the lock icon next to the URL > Notifications > Allow
  3. Desktop notifications show the sender's name and a subject preview

Email notifications

For critical alerts, enable email notifications. JustCall sends a brief notification email to your connected email address when the triggering event occurs. This is useful if you are away from the dashboard but need to know when a high-priority email arrives.

Use email notifications selectively to avoid notification fatigue. For most agents, in-app and desktop notifications are sufficient.

Mute notifications temporarily

If you need focused time without email alerts:

  1. Click the notification bell in the JustCall dashboard
  2. Select Mute for 1 hour, Mute for 4 hours, or Mute until tomorrow
  3. Notifications pause for the selected duration and resume automatically

Muting only affects your email inbox notifications. Call and SMS notifications follow their own settings.
