Filter and Search Emails in JustCall

Find any email conversation quickly using filters and keyword search. Narrow down your inbox by assignee, status, date, or tag to focus on the conversations that need your attention.

Available on: Premium and Custom plans

  1. Open Email Inbox in the JustCall dashboard
  2. Click the Search bar at the top of the inbox
  3. Type a keyword or phrase
  4. Press Enter

Search scans across email subjects, body content, and sender addresses. Results appear in the inbox view, sorted by relevance.

Filter by assignee

  1. Click the Filters button above the inbox list
  2. Select Assignee
  3. Choose a specific agent, Unassigned, or Mine (your own conversations)
  4. The inbox updates to show only conversations matching the selected assignee

This is useful for managers reviewing an agent's workload or for agents who want to see only their own queue.

Filter by status

Conversations have two statuses:

  • Open — active conversations that need attention
  • Closed — resolved conversations that have been marked as done

Use the status filter to view only open conversations (your active work) or only closed conversations (for reference or reopening).

Filter by date

  1. Click Filters > Date Range
  2. Select a preset range (Today, Last 7 days, Last 30 days) or set a custom start and end date
  3. The inbox shows only conversations with activity in that date range

Filter by tag

  1. Click Filters > Tags
  2. Select one or more tags
  3. Only conversations with the selected tags appear

You can combine tag filters with other filters. For example, filter by tag "billing" and assignee "unassigned" to find unhandled billing emails.

Combine filters

All filters work together. Apply multiple filters at once to narrow results precisely:

  • Assignee: Sarah + Status: Open + Tag: "urgent" shows Sarah's open urgent conversations
  • Date: Last 7 days + Status: Closed shows recently resolved conversations for review

Active filters appear as badges above the inbox. Click the X on any badge to remove that filter.

Save frequent searches

If you use the same filter combination regularly, bookmark the filtered URL in your browser for quick access. The filter state is preserved in the page URL.
