Schedule Bulk SMS Campaigns

Scheduling lets you prepare a bulk SMS campaign now and send it at the right moment — when recipients are most likely to read and respond, and within compliance windows.

Available on: Pro Plus plan and above

How to Schedule a Campaign

  1. Create a Bulk SMS campaign as usual (upload contacts, compose message).
  2. Instead of Send Now, click Schedule.
  3. Set the send date and time.
  4. Choose the time zone:
    • Sender's time zone — all messages send at the same clock time, regardless of where recipients are.
    • Recipient's time zone — messages send at the specified time in each recipient's local time zone (requires location data in your contact list).
  5. Click Confirm Schedule.

Quiet Hours Scheduling

Enable Respect Quiet Hours to prevent messages from being sent before 8 AM or after 9 PM in the recipient's time zone.

When enabled:

  • Messages that would land outside the 8 AM–9 PM window are held.
  • They're sent at the start of the next permitted window (8 AM the following day).
  • Held messages are visible in the campaign dashboard with a "Queued — Quiet Hours" status.

Note: Quiet hours apply to the recipient's time zone. If you're sending to recipients across multiple US time zones, the campaign may span several hours as it drips messages into each time zone's permitted window.

Editing a Scheduled Campaign

Before the send time, you can:

  • Edit the message — click on the campaign and modify the content.
  • Change the schedule — update the date, time, or time zone.
  • Add or remove contacts — update your recipient list.
  • Cancel the campaign — click Cancel to prevent sending. Cancelled campaigns are saved as drafts.

After the scheduled time, the campaign is locked and cannot be edited.

Best Times to Send

Based on industry benchmarks for business SMS:

Message typeRecommended send time
Appointment reminders24 hours before the appointment, during business hours
Marketing/promotionsTuesday–Thursday, 10 AM–12 PM or 2 PM–4 PM
Event announcements1 week before + day-of reminder
Follow-upsSame day as interaction, within 2 hours
Payment remindersMorning (9–10 AM), 3 days before due date

Avoid Mondays (inbox fatigue), Fridays after 3 PM (weekend mode), and weekends (unless your business operates weekends and recipients expect it).
