Requirements for purchasing Australian phone numbers vary by number type. Here is what you need for each.

Local numbers

• Individuals: Name and Australian address (no PO Box). No documentation upload required.
• Businesses: Same — name and Australian address.

Mobile numbers

• Individuals: Government-issued ID and proof of address (worldwide address accepted).
• Businesses: Government ID, proof of address, and business registration number.

Toll-free numbers

• Individuals: Name and address (worldwide accepted).
• Businesses: Name, address (worldwide accepted), and business registration number.

Toll-free registration update

All Australian toll-free numbers must be registered. Enforcement deadline: September 30.

Businesses registering toll-free numbers now need:

• Website or social media presence
• Business registration number
• Authorized representative with a business-domain email address

Registration is digitally verified — no supporting documents are required at submission.
