10DLC Campaign Rejection Reasons

Campaign registration can be rejected by the Campaign Registry. Here are the most common reasons and how to fix them.

Common Rejections

1. Sample Messages Don't Match Use Case

Fix: Rewrite sample messages to align with your selected campaign type. If you selected "Customer Care," samples should be support messages, not marketing.

2. Missing or Vague Opt-In Description

Fix: Describe the exact opt-in mechanism: "Customers opt in by entering their phone number on our website form at [url] and checking the SMS consent box." Include a screenshot of the opt-in form.

3. Missing Opt-Out Language

Fix: Add "Reply STOP to opt out" (or equivalent) to every sample message.

4. Website Is Down or Doesn't Match

Fix: Ensure your website is live, loads correctly, and matches the brand name in your registration. Include SMS consent language on your site if opt-in happens there.

5. Prohibited Content

Fix: Remove references to cannabis, gambling, adult content, hate speech, or other prohibited categories. Re-register with clean content.

6. Brand/Campaign Name Mismatch

Fix: Ensure the campaign brand name matches your registered brand exactly.

7. Insufficient Business Description

Fix: Provide a detailed use case summary explaining why you send messages, what type, and to whom. "Marketing" alone is rejected — "Sending promotional offers and appointment reminders to existing customers of [brand]" is accepted.

Resubmitting

  • Fix the identified issues before resubmitting.
  • Campaign registration fees ($15) are non-refundable, even for rejected campaigns.
  • You can create a new campaign after fixing the issues.
