France requires pre-registration of Alphanumeric Sender IDs before you can send SMS with a branded name. Here's what you need.
Requirements
- Pre-registration is mandatory. You cannot use dynamic Sender IDs for France.
- Processing time: Allow 2–5 business days for approval.
- Documentation: You may need to provide business registration documents and a description of your messaging use case.
- Monthly fee: Pre-registered Sender IDs in France may have a monthly recurring fee (shown during registration).
How to Register
- Go to Settings → SMS/MMS → Alphanumeric Sender ID.
- Click Enable or Add Country.
- Select France from the country list.
- Enter your desired Sender ID.
- Upload required documentation.
- Submit for approval.
You'll receive a notification when your Sender ID is approved.
France-Specific Rules
- Sender IDs that impersonate French government agencies, banks, or emergency services are rejected.
- Marketing SMS in France must comply with CNIL guidelines and include an opt-out mechanism.
- Messages sent outside of permitted hours (evenings, Sundays, public holidays) may be filtered.
