Set Up Ring Groups
Ring Groups let you assign a phone number to multiple user groups and distribute incoming calls among them using different ringing strategies.
Available on: All plans (user group limits may vary by plan)
Route calls to user groups
- Go to Phone Numbers and open Settings for the number
- Under Incoming Calls, open the Forward Calls tab
- Set Forward Incoming Calls to → Ring Groups
- Choose your ringing order
- Select the user groups to include
- Click Save
Ringing strategies
| Strategy | How it works |
|---|---|
| Ring all groups | Every member of every selected group rings simultaneously |
| Ring in order | Groups ring sequentially until someone answers |
| Ring in round robin | Calls rotate between groups evenly |
| Ring idle group first | Prioritizes the group with the fewest calls in the last 24 hours |
For "Ring in Order" and "Round Robin," you can drag groups to set the sequence.
Share a number with multiple groups
- Open Settings for the number
- Go to the Share with tab
- Click Change and select User Groups
- Choose the groups to share with
- Click Save
Common questions
Who can configure ring groups? Account administrators or users with "Edit Phone Number Settings" permissions.
Is there a cost for ring groups? Ring groups are included in all plans. The number of user groups you can create may vary by plan tier.
