Setting Up an IVR Menu (Interactive Voice Response)
An IVR menu lets callers navigate your phone system by pressing keys — for example, "Press 1 for Sales, Press 2 for Support." Here is how to set it up.
Available on: All plans
Enable IVR
- Go to Phone Numbers and select your number.
- Under Incoming Calls, find IVR (Call Menu).
- Toggle it on (disabled by default).
Configure menu options
For each key press option:
- Add an option using the +Add option button.
- Set the audio prompt — type text for text-to-speech or upload a custom MP3 recording.
- Configure the forwarding destination for each option.
- Set what happens for unanswered calls within each option.
To remove an option, click Remove next to it.
Upload custom IVR audio
You can upload a custom MP3 file to replace the text-to-speech prompt for any menu option.
Test your IVR
Use the Simulate button to test your call flow without making a real call. This lets you verify the menu options and routing before going live.
