Porting Your Existing Number — What to Know
JustCall makes it easy to transfer your existing phone numbers from another provider. Here is what you should know before starting.
Available on: All plans
How porting works
- You submit documents — a Letter of Authorization (LOA) and supporting documents that verify you own the number.
- JustCall processes the request — the porting team coordinates with your current carrier to transfer the number.
- The number goes live on JustCall — once complete, all calls and messages route through your JustCall account.
Key things to know
- No downtime. Your number continues working throughout the porting process.
- Do not cancel your current provider until JustCall confirms the port is complete. Canceling early can cause the number to be released and lost.
- Documents vary by country. Each country has specific requirements — check the country-specific porting guide for your region.
- LOAs must be recent. Most countries require the LOA to be dated within the last 30 days.
- You can port out of JustCall anytime. If you need to move your number away from JustCall in the future, you can do so freely.
What you need
| Requirement | Notes |
|---|---|
| Letter of Authorization (LOA) | Proves you authorize the transfer |
| Current provider bill/invoice | Verifies account ownership |
| Customer Service Record (CSR) | Recommended for US/CA numbers — speeds up approval |
