System and Browser Requirements
System and Browser Requirements
JustCall runs in your browser, on a desktop app, and on mobile devices. Here are the minimum requirements for a reliable calling and messaging experience.
Available on: All plans
Supported browsers
| Browser | Minimum version | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Google Chrome | Latest 2 versions | Recommended — best compatibility with Chrome extension |
| Mozilla Firefox | Latest 2 versions | Supported |
| Microsoft Edge | Latest 2 versions | Chromium-based Edge only |
| Safari | Latest 2 versions | macOS only |
Always keep your browser updated. Older versions may have audio issues or missing features.
Desktop app
JustCall offers a dedicated desktop app for Windows and macOS. The app provides the same features as the web version with the added benefit of persistent notifications and background running.
- Windows: Windows 10 or later
- macOS: macOS 11 (Big Sur) or later
Download from your JustCall dashboard under Settings > Apps or from the JustCall website.
Mobile apps
- iOS: iPhone running iOS 15 or later
- Android: Android 10 or later
Download from the App Store (iOS) or Google Play Store (Android).
Network requirements
JustCall calls use your internet connection, not your phone carrier. For reliable call quality:
- Minimum bandwidth: 100 Kbps per concurrent call (both upload and download)
- Recommended bandwidth: 1 Mbps+ per concurrent call
- Latency: Under 150ms round trip
- Jitter: Under 30ms
- Packet loss: Under 1%
Use a wired Ethernet connection when possible. Wi-Fi is acceptable if the signal is strong and consistent.
Recommended hardware
- Headset: USB or Bluetooth headset with a built-in microphone. Wired USB headsets provide the most consistent audio quality.
- Microphone: Grant JustCall permission to access your microphone in your browser settings. Without microphone access, you cannot make or receive calls.
- Speakers: Use headset speakers rather than built-in laptop speakers to avoid echo.
Firewall and network configuration
If your office uses a firewall or VPN, your network administrator may need to allowlist JustCall's servers and ports. Check the network configuration documentation or contact JustCall support for the current list of required domains and ports.
Run a network test
JustCall includes a built-in network test to check your connection quality:
- Go to Settings > Network Test
- Click Run Test
- Review results for bandwidth, latency, jitter, and packet loss
If the test shows poor results, try switching to a wired connection, closing bandwidth-heavy applications, or contacting your IT team.
