How to Set a Default Number for Making Outbound Calls

If you have multiple JustCall numbers, you can set one as your default for outbound calls. This saves time — you will not need to select a number from the dropdown every time you dial.

Available on: All plans

Set your default outbound number

  1. Go to Settings in the left sidebar
  2. Select My Call Settings (or Call Preferences)
  3. Under Default Outbound Number, select the number you want to use by default
  4. Save changes

From now on, the dialer pre-selects this number when you make a call. You can still switch to a different number before dialing — the default just sets your starting point.

When to set a default number

  • You have one main number — set it as default so you never need to think about it
  • You handle different types of calls — set your most-used number as default and switch manually for exceptions
  • Your team shares numbers — each team member can set their own default, even on a shared number

Default number and CRM click-to-call

When you click a phone number in your CRM to launch a call, JustCall uses your default outbound number as the caller ID. If you need to call from a specific number, change it in the dialer before the call connects.
