Accessing Call Recordings in JustCall
JustCall records calls automatically when recording is enabled for a phone number. Every recorded call is stored in your dashboard with a full transcript, AI summary, and playback controls.
Available on: All plans (recording + AI transcription included)
Find your recordings
- Go to Calls in the left sidebar
- Find the call you want — use filters for date, team member, number, or direction (inbound/outbound)
- Click on the call to open its details
- Click the Play button to listen to the recording
Recordings are available immediately after the call ends.
What you see with each recording
Every recorded call includes:
- Audio playback with seek, speed controls, and download option
- Full transcript — automatically generated by AI Transcription
- Call summary — key points extracted by AI
- Action items — follow-ups identified during the conversation
- Sentiment analysis — speaker-by-speaker mood tracking (Pro Plus and above)
- AI call score — automatic 0–100 quality rating (Pro Plus and above)
Click any line in the transcript to jump to that moment in the recording.
Download a recording
- Open the call details
- Click the three-dot menu (⋯)
- Select Download
- The recording downloads as an MP3 file (audio calls) or WebM (video meetings)
Downloads are available from JustCall calls, Sales Dialer calls, and Meetings tabs.
Enable recording for a number
If recording is not turned on yet:
- Go to Phone Numbers > select a number
- Open Recording & Transcripts
- Toggle on Call Recording
- Save
Recording applies to all calls on that number going forward. Previous calls that were not recorded cannot be recovered.
Recording compliance
If your team calls contacts in states or countries that require all-party consent for recording (California, Florida, and 13 other US states, plus various international jurisdictions), enable recording compliance:
- Go to Phone Numbers > select a number > Recording & Transcripts
- Enable Recording Compliance
- JustCall automatically announces to callers that the call may be recorded
This protects your business from consent violations.
