Manage Business Hours of Phone Numbers

Business hours control when incoming calls ring through to your team and when they go to voicemail or an after-hours greeting. Each phone number in JustCall has its own business hours, so you can set different schedules for different lines.

Available on: All plans

Set business hours for a number

  1. Go to Phone Numbers in the left sidebar
  2. Select the number you want to configure
  3. Click Business Hours
  4. For each day of the week, set the start time and end time
  5. Toggle off any days when the number should not ring (weekends, holidays)
  6. Save changes

All times are based on the timezone you configure for the number. Set this to match the timezone of the team handling calls on that line.

What happens during business hours

  • Incoming calls ring through to assigned team members following your routing rules (ring all, round robin, IVR, etc.)
  • If no one answers, the call goes to voicemail after the configured ring timeout

What happens outside business hours

  • Incoming calls go directly to voicemail or play your after-hours greeting
  • Callers hear your after-hours message and can leave a voicemail
  • The call is logged as missed in your call log

Set different hours for different numbers

If your team covers multiple time zones or has separate lines for different purposes, set unique business hours per number:

  • Sales line: Mon–Fri, 8am–6pm EST
  • Support line: Mon–Sat, 9am–9pm PST
  • International line: 24/7 (toggle all days to "always available")

After-hours voicemail greeting

Record a separate greeting for after-hours callers:

  1. Go to Phone Numbers > select your number
  2. Open Custom Greetings and Recordings
  3. Upload or record an after-hours voicemail greeting
  4. Save

This greeting plays only when calls arrive outside your configured business hours. During business hours, callers hear your standard welcome message.

Holiday hours

For holidays or office closures, temporarily adjust your business hours or toggle a number to "closed" for specific dates. Update your after-hours greeting to mention the holiday and expected return date.
