Sharing a JustCall Number with Your Team Members

A shared number lets multiple team members make and receive calls and messages on the same line. This is how most teams handle a main office number, support line, or sales hotline — everyone on the team can answer, and incoming calls ring for all assigned members.

How shared numbers work

When you share a number with multiple team members:

  • Incoming calls ring for all assigned members simultaneously (default) or follow routing rules you configure
  • Incoming messages appear in a shared inbox visible to all assigned members
  • Outbound calls and messages from any assigned member show the shared number as the caller ID
  • Call history and message threads are visible to everyone assigned to the number

Assign team members to a shared number

  1. Go to Phone Numbers in the left sidebar
  2. Select the number you want to share
  3. Click Members or Team Assignment
  4. Add team members by name or email
  5. Save changes

Added members can immediately make and receive calls on that number.


Configure how calls are distributed

By default, shared numbers ring all assigned members at once. You can change this under the number's routing settings:

For higher call volumes, you can also enable Queue to hold callers in line when all agents are busy, with options for callback requests and position-in-queue announcements.

Most teams use a mix: shared numbers for team lines and dedicated numbers for reps who need a personal business number.
