Workflow Templates
Templates give you a head start. Instead of building from scratch, pick a pre-built workflow that matches your use case, customize a few details, and go live in minutes.
How to Use Templates
- Go to Settings → Workflows.
- Click + Create Workflow.
- Select Start from Template instead of "Start from Scratch."
- Browse or search the template library.
- Click a template to preview its trigger, conditions, and actions.
- Click Use This Template to load it into the builder.
- Customize the details — phone numbers, message text, CRM fields — then activate.
Available Templates
Missed Call Follow-Up SMS
Trigger: call.missed Action: Send SMS to the caller with a message like: "Sorry we missed your call. We will get back to you shortly."
When to use it: You want every missed call to receive an immediate acknowledgment so callers know you are responsive.
After-Hours Auto-Reply
Trigger: sms.received Condition: Outside business hours Action: Send SMS with your business hours and a note that someone will respond the next business day.
When to use it: Customers text outside working hours and you want to set expectations instead of leaving them waiting in silence.
Voicemail Notification
Trigger: voicemail.received Action: Send email to the assigned agent (or a distribution list) with the voicemail transcription and a link to the recording.
When to use it: Agents who are in the field or on other calls need voicemail alerts pushed to their inbox.
Call Summary to CRM
Trigger: call.completed Action: Create a CRM activity record with call duration, agent name, disposition, and notes.
When to use it: Your CRM should reflect every customer conversation without agents manually logging calls.
New Lead Notification
Trigger: contact.created Condition: Source is inbound call or SMS Action: Notify a Slack channel with the new lead's name, number, and source details.
When to use it: Your sales team needs instant visibility when a new prospect reaches out.
Customizing Templates
Every part of a template is editable. You can:
- Change the trigger to a different event.
- Add or remove conditions.
- Rewrite SMS or email copy.
- Swap CRM field mappings.
- Add additional actions.
The template is just the starting point. Make it yours.
Requesting New Templates
If your team uses a workflow pattern repeatedly, contact JustCall support to suggest it as a template for the library. Common patterns shared across customers are regularly added.
