SMS Copilot: How AI Reply Suggestions Work

SMS Copilot is JustCall's AI-powered assistant that generates 2–3 reply suggestions based on the full conversation thread. It reads context — not just the latest message — to produce relevant, ready-to-send responses.

Available on: Team plan and above (AI add-on may be required)


How to Enable SMS Copilot

  1. Go to SettingsAI Features.
  2. Toggle SMS Copilot on.
  3. Open any SMS conversation with an unread incoming message — suggestions appear automatically above the compose area.

How Suggestions Are Generated

  1. A customer sends a message.
  2. Copilot reads the full conversation thread for context.
  3. It generates 2–3 suggested replies.
  4. Click a suggestion to load it into the compose field.
  5. Edit if needed, then send.

Copilot never sends messages automatically. Every suggestion requires your explicit action.


When Suggestions Appear

Suggestions appear when:

  • You open a conversation with an unread incoming message.
  • A new message arrives while you're viewing a conversation.

Suggestions do not appear when:

  • The last message in the thread is from you.
  • The conversation is closed or archived.

Tips for Better Suggestions

  • Keep conversations in one thread — fragmented conversations across multiple numbers weaken context.
  • Use clear subject lines in initial outbound messages so Copilot stays on-topic.
  • Don't rely on it for legal, medical, or escalation messages — write those yourself.
