Receive Inbound Calls on the JustCall Mobile App

Incoming business calls ring on your mobile device in real time — even when the app is in the background or your screen is locked. Answer from your lock screen, see caller details instantly, and never miss a customer call while away from your desk.

How incoming calls work

When someone calls your JustCall number, the system routes the call based on your team's call routing rules. If your mobile app is active and your status is set to Available, the call rings on your device through a push notification.

The incoming call screen displays:

  • Caller's phone number
  • Caller's name (if the number matches a contact in JustCall)
  • The JustCall number that was dialed

CallKit on iOS

JustCall uses Apple CallKit, so incoming calls appear on your iPhone the same way regular phone calls do:

  • Full-screen call notification on your lock screen
  • Call shows in the native iOS Phone app's recent calls
  • You can answer, decline, or send to voicemail from the lock screen
  • Active calls appear in the iOS call interface with mute, speaker, and hold controls

CallKit is enabled automatically — no configuration required.


ConnectionService on Android

On Android, JustCall uses ConnectionService to deliver incoming calls:

  • Incoming call notification appears as a heads-up notification
  • On supported devices, the call displays in the native phone interface
  • You can answer or decline directly from the notification
  • If your screen is locked, the notification wakes the display

For reliable delivery, make sure JustCall is excluded from battery optimization (see Android Getting Started).


Simultaneous ring with desktop

By default, incoming calls ring on all your active devices at the same time — mobile app, desktop app, and web app. The first device you answer on takes the call, and the others stop ringing.

If you want calls to ring only on specific devices, adjust your preferences in Settings > Call Settings on the JustCall dashboard.


Missed calls

If you do not answer, the call follows your team's routing rules — it may go to another agent, a ring group, or voicemail. Missed calls appear in your Recents tab with a missed-call indicator, and you receive a push notification summarizing the missed call.
