Call Recording on the JustCall Mobile App

Record calls from your mobile device and access them later for training, compliance, or reference. Recordings sync with your JustCall dashboard, so your team can review them from anywhere.

Automatic recording

When your admin enables automatic call recording for your account or phone number, every call you make or receive on the mobile app is recorded without any action on your part. A recording indicator appears on the call screen to confirm the call is being recorded.

Automatic recording settings are managed by your account admin on the JustCall web dashboard under Phone Numbers > select number > Call Recording.


Manual recording

If automatic recording is not enabled, you can record calls on demand:

  1. During an active call, tap the Record button on the call screen
  2. The recording indicator appears and recording begins
  3. Tap Stop Recording to end the recording before the call ends

If you do not stop recording manually, it ends automatically when the call disconnects.


Recording indicator

Both automatic and manual recordings display a visual indicator on the call screen. This serves as a reminder that the call is being captured. If your account is configured to play a recording announcement to callers, they hear an audio notification at the start of the call.


Access recordings

Recordings are available in multiple places:

  • Mobile app: Go to Recents, tap a call, and tap Play Recording
  • Web dashboard: Navigate to Calls > find the call > click the recording icon
  • CRM: If your CRM integration is configured to log recordings, the audio file links appear in the contact's activity

Recordings are typically available within a few minutes after the call ends.


Compliance considerations

Call recording laws vary by region. Some jurisdictions require all-party consent (every person on the call must be informed), while others require only one-party consent. Before enabling call recording:

  • Consult your legal team about the recording laws in your operating regions
  • Enable the recording announcement so callers are notified
  • Inform your agents that calls may be recorded
  • Review your company's data retention policies for stored recordings

JustCall provides the tools to record and announce — your organization is responsible for ensuring compliance with local regulations.
