Fax in JustCall (Deprecated)

JustCall previously offered fax functionality that allowed you to send and receive faxes through a dedicated fax number. Fax is now deprecated and no longer provisioned for new users.

Current status

• New fax numbers cannot be provisioned. The option is no longer available in the phone number setup flow.
• Existing fax numbers continue to work. If you already have an active fax number on your account, you can still send and receive faxes.
• Fax history remains accessible in your dashboard for numbers that are still active.

Why fax was deprecated

Fax usage across the JustCall customer base declined significantly as businesses moved to digital document workflows. Maintaining fax infrastructure for a small number of users was no longer sustainable. JustCall chose to focus engineering resources on calling, SMS, and AI features.

If you have an existing fax number

Your fax number continues to function as long as your account is active. You can:

• Send faxes from the JustCall dashboard
• Receive inbound faxes, which appear in your fax inbox
• Download faxes as PDF files

If you release your fax number, you will not be able to provision a new one.

Alternatives for fax needs

If you need fax capabilities and do not have an existing JustCall fax number, consider dedicated fax services:

• eFax — cloud-based fax with email integration
• HelloFax (Dropbox Fax) — fax from your Dropbox or Google Drive
• FaxBurner — mobile-first fax app

These services specialize in fax and offer features such as HIPAA-compliant faxing, electronic signatures, and large-volume sending that JustCall did not provide.

Frequently asked questions

Can I port my JustCall fax number to another provider? Yes. Submit a port-out request through JustCall support and the receiving provider will handle the transfer.

Will my existing fax number be canceled? No. Active fax numbers remain functional. JustCall has not announced an end-of-life date for existing fax numbers.

Can I convert a fax number to a voice number? No. Fax numbers and voice numbers use different configurations and cannot be converted.
