Call Recording in JustCall
JustCall lets you record every call automatically or give agents control to start and stop recording manually. Recordings are stored securely, searchable from your dashboard, and available for download at any time.

Automatic vs manual recording
Automatic recording
Turn on automatic recording per phone number and every inbound and outbound call on that number is recorded without any agent action. This is the recommended mode for most teams.
Manual recording
With manual mode, agents click a button during the call to start recording. They can pause and resume as needed. Use this mode when only portions of a conversation need to be captured.
To set the mode, go to Phone Numbers > select a number > Recording & Transcripts > choose Automatic or Manual.
Storage and access
- All recordings are stored in JustCall cloud storage for the duration of your retention period
- Find recordings under Calls in the left sidebar — filter by date, agent, number, or direction
- Each recording includes audio playback, AI transcript, summary, and sentiment analysis (Pro Plus and above)
Download recordings
- Open the call details from the Calls tab
- Click the three-dot menu and select Download
- The file downloads as MP3 (audio calls) or WebM (video)
You can also bulk-export recordings from the call logs screen by selecting multiple calls and choosing Download Selected.
Compliance settings
If you operate in jurisdictions that require all-party consent (such as California, Florida, and various international regions), enable recording compliance:
- Go to Phone Numbers > select a number > Recording & Transcripts
- Toggle on Recording Compliance
- JustCall plays an automated announcement at the start of each call informing participants the call may be recorded
This opt-in announcement satisfies two-party consent requirements and protects your business from legal exposure.

After the retention window, recordings are permanently deleted. Download any recordings you need to keep before that window closes.
