Import and Export Contacts
Bring your existing contacts into JustCall from CSV files, Google Contacts, or your CRM. Export contacts out of JustCall when you need them in another tool. This article covers each method, field mapping, and how duplicates are handled.
Available on: All plans
Import from CSV
- Go to Contacts > Import > CSV
- Upload your file (UTF-8 encoding recommended, max 50,000 rows per file)
- Map each column in your CSV to a JustCall field:
- Required: Phone number
- Recommended: First name, last name, email, company
- Optional: Any custom fields you have created
- Choose duplicate handling (see below)
- Click Import
You receive an email notification when the import finishes, along with a summary of created, updated, and skipped records.
Import from Google Contacts
- Go to Contacts > Import > Google Contacts
- Authorize JustCall to access your Google account
- Select which contact groups to import (or import all)
- Confirm and start the import
Google Contacts sync is one-time by default. For ongoing sync, connect Google as an integration under Settings > Integrations.
Import from CRM
When you connect a CRM integration (HubSpot, Salesforce, Pipedrive, Zoho), contacts sync automatically in both directions. There is no manual import step — new contacts appear in JustCall within minutes of being created in your CRM.
Export contacts to CSV
- Go to Contacts
- Use filters to narrow the list (optional)
- Click Export > CSV
- Choose which fields to include
- Click Download
The CSV file downloads to your device. Use it to import into another tool, create mailing lists, or back up your data.
Duplicate handling
During CSV import, JustCall checks for existing contacts with the same phone number. You choose what happens:
| Option | What it does |
|---|---|
| Skip | Keeps the existing record unchanged, ignores the imported row |
| Overwrite | Replaces all fields on the existing record with the imported data |
| Merge | Updates only the fields that are empty on the existing record |
For CRM sync, duplicates are resolved based on phone number and email matching. The CRM record is treated as the source of truth.
