Troubleshoot Chrome Extension Issues
If the JustCall Chrome extension is not loading, not detecting phone numbers, or behaving unexpectedly, use this guide to resolve the problem.
Available on: All plans
Common issues and fixes
| Symptom | Likely cause | Fix |
|---|---|---|
| Extension icon is grayed out | Extension disabled or not logged in | Enable in chrome://extensions/ and log in |
| Phone numbers not detected on pages | Extension needs permission for the current site | Grant site access in extension settings |
| Click-to-call not working | Outdated extension version | Update to the latest version |
| Extension conflicts with other tools | Another VoIP or dialer extension is interfering | Disable conflicting extensions |
| Extension crashes or freezes | Corrupted installation | Uninstall and reinstall |
Step 1: Check extension version
- Go to
chrome://extensions/. - Find JustCall and note the version number.
- Compare with the latest version in the Chrome Web Store.
- If outdated, click Update (or enable auto-updates in Chrome).
JustCall requires Chrome version 90 or later. Check your browser version at chrome://version.
Step 2: Verify permissions
The extension needs specific permissions to work correctly:
- Click the puzzle icon in Chrome's toolbar.
- Click the three dots next to JustCall > Manage Extension.
- Under Site access, select On all sites for full click-to-call functionality, or add specific sites where you want number detection.
- Confirm that Allow in incognito is enabled if you use incognito mode.
Step 3: Check for extension conflicts
Other extensions — especially ad blockers, privacy tools, and competing VoIP extensions — can interfere with JustCall.
- Go to
chrome://extensions/. - Disable all other extensions.
- Reload the page you were testing on.
- If JustCall works, re-enable extensions one at a time to identify the conflict.
Known conflict categories:
- Ad blockers that block WebRTC connections
- Other click-to-call extensions (RingCentral, Dialpad, Aircall)
- Privacy extensions that restrict site access
Step 4: Reinstall the extension
If the above steps do not resolve the issue:
- Go to
chrome://extensions/. - Click Remove on the JustCall extension.
- Restart Chrome.
- Go to the Chrome Web Store and search for "JustCall."
- Click Add to Chrome.
- Log in to the extension with your JustCall credentials.
- Grant microphone and notification permissions when prompted.
